War pension, nine of which match Sterling MA VRs; 7 children given by JWH or MLM are not in Sterling VRs (Manassah, Cephas, James, Richardson Charles, Catherine, Lucy) and are not in RW Pension listing in his handwritting.

JWH erroneously gives the seven children listed here as those of Ephraim Houghton: Manassah, Cephas, James, Richardson Charles, Catherine, Lucy. They are in fact his brother Josiah Richardson's children.²³

MLM confused this Ephraim of the Ralph Houghton line with the Ephraim of the John Houghton line who married Prudence House and Polly Carleton^10,24

MLM identifies these two Ephraims, and gives marriage to Prudence House (no date) and 4 children (Prudence, Elizabeth, Charles L., and Elizabeth; the latter 2 only in MLM). Given Sterling VRs marriage date of 1786, it is clear this is an incorrect attribution.²⁵
