He owned 300 acres in Bolton.

Nourse, Early Records of Lancaster, MA, 1884: "Was assigned to a garrison on the east side of the river in the 1704 Lancaster "census" with a household of one adult male. The location was in what is now southeast Bolton. In 1711, he was the leader of his own garrison, including three families (presumably his, brother Joseph's, and one other) with three adult males and 12 souls in all."

E.K. Whitcomb, About Bolton, 1988: "He donated two acres to the new town of Bolton in 1739 for a graveyard. Evidently, he was the first person buried there. The graveyard was later expanded, but it had filled up by about 1820...He died intestate."

Bolton Town History says he had additional sons Benjamin, Israel, Joseph, and Iriah, but these do not appear in vital records.^12,5
