Old Time Resident Passes away Mrs. Goerge Books dies at Ogden Utah after a long illness

Mrs Ellen Leretta Houghten Books wife of George Books, former resident of Star Valley died at Ogden Utah Jan. 21, 1922, after a protracted illness. She went to Ogden several months ago for treatment and a change of climate, and though greatly improved in health at time, finally succumbed to the Hand of the grim reaper, Death. The body was taken to the Lindquest undertaking Parlor at which place funeral services were conducted by Bp. Budge. Dr. R. Jepperson offered the opening prayer and the Benediction was given by Desmond J. Barker.
Mrs. O Blakely sweetly sang "Oh My Father", "Nearer My God to Thee", and "My Father Knows," and the Cranney sisters sang "Some Time, Some Where"
Frank Cranney spoke of the charitable life of Mrs. Books and offered words of consolation to the bereft husband and son.
Willard G. Brown of Fairview Wyo. spoke of the joy and satisfaction the gospel of Christ brings to the heart especially in times of sorrow and distress.
Bp. Budge made closing remarks. besides many Ogden friends the following old time Star Valley residents now of Utah, were present: Mr and Mrs Jas. Lowe and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Reeves, Mr and Mrs. Frank Cranney and family, Mr and Mrs. O.R. Child Sen. Mr and Mrs. O. R. Child Jr. Mr and Mrs Chas. Kent, Messers, Clyde Settle, Willard G. Brown, Fred Brown Sr. Bert Allred and W. Stocks.
The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful.
Mrs. Books was born Sept 19, 1857. She leaves a husband a son and two grandchildren to mourn her loss.
Interment was made in the Ogden City Cemetery.
