Rice Report of 1848), p. 24: "Richard, whos place is in the 13th generation, settled in Pendleton, Lancaste, married Agnes, and was progenitor of the Pendleton Hoghtons, who in after times went off in two heirs female, viz.: Catherine (married to Thomas Hoghton of Hoghton Tower, as will be seen hereafter) and Mary, married first to George Singleton, of Stayning, in 1601, and second to Livesay Conner in 1607. He died in 1425."
