Barbara L. Giffen: Jonathan Jr. was not the son of Ruth Houghton and Jonathan Barrett, as stated, although they did have other children together. Jonathan Jr. was the son of Jonathan Barrett only when he was baptized. Jonathan Sr. married Ruth Houghton 3 years after that event. In the records of Harvard, Jonathan Barrett married Phebe Warner in 1981. She apparently died with his birth or very soon thereafter. She was the daughter of John Warner, Jr and Phebe Whitney. Phebe Whitney's mother was Mary Lovering Holman, and from there her descendants are Mayflower descendants from Degory Priest. I have proven this and am now a member through this line.
Also, Mary Hodgman was also know as Mary Amelia or Amelia in some of the later census. They are acknowledged from Jonathan Barrett, Sr's will in Boston as "Jonathan and Mary Barrett from Town of Athol, County of Warren, State of New York" where they now rest in the Reynolds Cemetery. Her father was Abel Hodgman and her mother was Betsey Bailey from New Hampshire. I have also proven this and am now a DAR through Abel Hodgman and Jonathan Barrett, Sr.
