ObituaryAug 23, 1981HOUGHTON, ln West Hartford. David Hazelton Houghton, 80, of 174 Four Mlle Road, West Hartford, died Saturday (Aug. 22, 1981) after a brief Illness. He was born In Bethesda, Md., and was a resident of West Hartford 60 years. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, the West Hartford Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was circulation manager, treasurer and vice president of the American Radio Relay League of Newington, which he had served 54 years. During his tenure at ARRL, the Amateurs Radio Handbook, with Its 8 million worldwide circulation, became one of Its leading technical publications in its field. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Benedict D. Flynn Jr. of West Hartford and Mrs. Richard C. Bacon of Tlburon, Calif; a son, Alan N. Houghton of Madison; two brothers, Livingston Houghton of Palm Beach, Fla., and Col Eugene Houghton of Carmel, Calif., and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday,
