He could be a cousin of Alberto and Joseph Vassallo. The other two were Giuseppe Abela, the son of Filippo Abela and Michele Angelo Calleja, the son of Giuseppe Calleja. Both men stated they were going to their friend Alberto Vassallo who was living at 1640 Vancouver St. in 1917. He received military draft notice on 12 September 1918 at 1635 Palou, San Francisco, CA, USA, age 20, Union Iron Works, a holder; lives with brother Bob Vassallo. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 11am at St. Paul of the Shipwreck (Jamestown Ave. at Third St., SF). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
