Robert Paul Borg was born in San Francisco, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his daughters Amy (Sean), Brandy (Ron), Delores (Johnny); his five grandchildren Haylee, Steven, Paige, John Michael, and Ashlyn; his brother Michael (Kelli); and his parents Bob and Betty, longtime residents of Auburn, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
"Bobby" worked in Auburn as a bartender from 1976-1989. He later moved to Stanislaus County where he worked for Sysco Foods and retired in 2007 after advancing to Vice President of Marketing. Bobby was an avid fisherman who took every opportunity to go out on his boat with family and friends.
What Bobby will be most remembered for is his sense of humor, his love of cooking, and his open generosity. His pride and love for his family was always evident; he was always just a phone call away. He will be fondly and lovingly remembered by his friends, colleagues and family. While his place and time in our lives was too short, he lives on in our hearts forever.
An 11:30 a.m. mass service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at St. Joseph's Church, 1162 Lincoln Way, Auburn, to be followed by a luncheon at the Auburn Elks Lodge # 1691 located at 195 Pine St. Family has requested that donations be made to the Diabetes and Kidney Association.
