Carmen Galea was born on 4 July 1942 in Qormi, Malta.2 She married George P. Ebejer, son of Emanuel Ebejer and Georgia Abela, on 23 April 1960 at San Francisco, CA, USA.1 Carmen Galea died on 19 May 2016 at age 73.
She emigrated from Malta in 1959 to San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA, USA.2 Her married name was Ebejer.1 She and George P. Ebejer lived at Millbrae, CA, USA; until they moved to Siskiyou County in 1977. Carmen Galea was naturalized in 1991.
Obituary: on 1 June 2016: Carmen Ebejer went home to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, May 19, 2016. She passed away with family by her side, joy in her heart and giving thanks to her savior.
Carmen was a devoted wife, mother, Nunna, Buz Buz, sister and auntie. She was the most selfless woman; always putting her family and their needs above her own. Her best days were spent in the presence of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, in her garden and in her kitchen where she cooked up Maltese specialties for her family; never accepting “no thanks, I’m not hungry” as an answer. She was stubborn, boy was she stubborn; but equally loving, loyal and genuine. She was truly one in a million.
Carmen was born in Qormi, Malta, on July 4, 1942. It was quite fitting for her to be born on the fourth of July ... anyone who knew Carmen knew her as spunky, sassy and full of spark, just like a firework. Her little stature held such a big personality and an even bigger heart.
In 1951, Carmen’s family moved from Malta to the United States and she was proud to become a citizen in 1991. It was in San Francisco that Carmen met her husband, George. They were married on April 23, 1960. Together they have two sons, John and George Jr. They raised their family in Millbrae, California, until they moved to Siskiyou County in 1977.
Until her family meets with her again in heaven, she leaves behind her husband of over 56 years, George; her sons, John and George Jr; her daughters in law, whom she loved as her own daughters, Dori and Markay; her siblings, Aggie, Pauline, Mary Ann, Manuel, George and Joey; her grandchildren, Ashley (Jake), Josh, Whitney, Jordan (Dennell) and Nicole, all whom she adored; and her beloved great grandchildren, Wyatt, Weston, Kendyl, Dean and Gia.
A potluck and celebration of Carmen’s life will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at the KRCE Lodge in Hornbrook. In lieu of flowers, the family says to hug a loved one. However, if you could ask Carmen, she would say: “In lieu of flowers, don’t vote for Hillary!” Girdner Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences can be made at www.girdnerfuneralchapel.com.

For half an hour, maybe more, I crawled from one room to another through the light well windows. But each time I tried to get out a door the flames from the hall pushed me back.
