Obituary: on 10 January 2016: Frank Scerri Passed away peacefully on January 6, 2016 at the age of 85. He is reunited with his wife Jane, and son Tony Scerri. Frank is survived by his current wife Isabel. He is the beloved father of Pauline Henderson (Rich), loving Nannu of Jennifer Downing (Carl), Kristina Holt (Chris), Dominique Henderson, and Anthony Scerri, and loving BuzNannu to Paulina, Merick, Signe, Lily and Hudson. Frank is the oldest of 10 brothers and sisters. All 9 of his siblings survive him. Frank has a large extended family through the US, Canada and Malta. Frank is a native of Malta. He is a long time member of The Maltese American Social Club of San Francisco. He worked for and retired from Dependable Furniture and Manufacturing Company of SF. He immigrated on 27 June 1952; the Nea Hellas to travel to Naples, then to Lisbon, Portugal, and finally the first port of entry in Hallifax, Nova Scotia. From there I boarded a train to reach my final destination, Canada, where I would join my brothers, Frank and Paul. He emigrated from Malta in February 1957 to San Francisco, CA, USA. He was a member of the Maltese American Social Club and was Ass. Sec, 69-70, awarded bar concession with John Stellini, 71; helped at club activities for many years; Sgt at Arms, 77; chair of house committee, 2004 in 1957 at San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA, USA. Obituary: : Jane Scerri passed peacefully at the age of 85 in her home in San Francisco, with her loving husband Pete and family by her side. She was also surrounded by family during this difficult time, and her courage throughout this journey was a source of comfort and strength to us all. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael, sister Helen Kucherepa, and brother Edward Steve Hoiko. Jane was born Algania Hoiko on October 7, 1932 in Toronto, Canada to Stephen and Kadie Hoiko as a first generation Canadian. Pete and Jane married in Toronto and immigrated to San Francisco in 1957 on the California Zephyr, where they were soon to start their new family. As the years passed, Michael, Stephen (Jill), Cathy, and Paula (Mark) were born. One of the joys of Jane’s and Pete’s life was their six grandchildren: Katie, Joshua, Amber, Matt, Shay, and Michael. For 62 years, Jane and Pete were inseparable. They spent special time with their family, traveling around the world, fishing on the Pacifica Pier, and socializing with their friends at the Maltese American Social Club, where Jane served as secretary for the Women’s Auxiliary. We would like to thank everyone for their love and prayers throughout this difficult time. Algania Hoiko was also known as Jane/Jennie Hoiko.
