Family, his faith and a simple life was what he valued; fishing and fixing anything was what he enjoyed. In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years and his kids, he leaves behind to cherish his memories, son-in-law Ron Nethken; daughters-in-law Laura, Tanya and Christy; his precious grandchildren David, Lynnie, Danny, Branden, Andre, Madisyn, Jayden, Marissa, Avery and Evan; his beautiful great-grandchildren Cheyenne and Paige; siblings Grezju, Carmen, Pauline and Tommy; as well as many wonderful cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.1 Emmanuele Azzopardi was also known as Pete.

On Feb. 7, 2013, James and Helen Schembri will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
Married Feb. 7, 1953 in San Francisco at Saint Paul of the Shipwreck Catholic Church in the Bayview District. James and Helen met when he came to live with his uncle and aunt in San Francisco after he migrated here from the island of Malta. Helen is a first-generation San Franciscan, but her parents were also from Malta.
Their first home was in the Candlestick Cove area of San Francisco. They purchased their new home in 1955 in Pacifica’s Linda Mar area. Pacifica’s beaches and coastal vistas has always reminded them of Malta and they love it here.
James worked for 30 years at Schlage Lock and Key Company and Helen worked for 25 years as a cook in the Pacifica School District.
They raised three children, James (Kim) Schembri, Theresa Menjivar and Mary (Michael) Griggi. Grandparents to Veronica (Paul), Edwin (Camille), Sarah (Jared), Kathleen (Rick), Krista (Johnny) and Alison. Great Grandparents to Anthony, Makaila, Cienna, Sabrina, Jimmy, Tommy, Weston, Wyatt and Savina.
