It is estimated that hundreds took part in the Boston Tea Party. For fear of punishment, many participants of the Boston Tea Party remained anonymous for many years after the event. To date it is known that 116 people are documented to have participated. Not all of the participants of the Boston Tea Party are known; many carried the secret of their participation to their graves. The participants were made up of males from all walks of colonial society. Many were from Boston or the surrounding area, but some participants are documented to have come from as far away as Worcester in central Massachusetts and Maine. The vast majority was of English descent, but men of Irish, Scottish, French, Portuguese, and African ancestry were documented to have also participated. The participants were off all ages, but the majority of the documented participants was under the age of forty. Sixteen participants were teenagers, and only nine men were above the age of forty. Many of the Boston Tea Party participants fled Boston immediately after the destruction of the tea to avoid arrest. Thousands witnessed the event, and the implication and impact of this action were enormous ultimately leading to the start of the American Revolution.

Constance E. (Houghton)Burdette was born on December 21, 1952 and went for an eternal rest on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Constance was a resident of North Kingsville, Ohio at the time of her passing. She was born in Geneva, Ohio to Richard and Virginia (Messinger) Houghton and had been a lifelong Ashtabula County resident.

A member of the Episcopal faith, Connie loved collecting movies, camping, and country music. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her ex-husband Johnny Burdette, children Ora Burdette, John (Sheri) Burdette, Michele (Chris Stockum) Burdette, Theodore (Jennifer) Burdette, Joseph Burdette, Raymond (Kelly) Burdette, Cynthia (Richard) Hogle, Jessica (Bryan) Turner, Matthew (Ashley Ingrahm) Burdette: 31 grandchildrenn, eight great-grandchildren; siblings Linda Runnion, Donna (Richard) Secrest, Franklin (Marion) Houghton, Martha (Roger) Latak. She is also survived by her beloved dog, "Fifi", and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew Ezra Tackett, brothers-in-law Okey Runnion, Michael Burdette, Leonard Burdette, Ernnest Burdette, and Tink Carpenter, and sister-in-law Barbara Radcliff.

A celebration of life service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday September 19 2015 in the mausoleum chapel of Greenlawn Memory Gardens 3140 E. Center Street N. Kingsville Ohio. Her son Raymond Burdette officiated the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
