HILLSBORO – Mildred "Millie" L. Houghton, 74, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, peacefully at home following a brief illness.

Millie was born July 11, 1940. She attended school in Hillsboro, class of 1958.

She was a dedicated employee to Windsor Florist, Frameworks and White Mountain Kettle Korn.

Millie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 59, the Hillsoro Moose Lodge #1091, and the Order of the Fraternal Eagles.

She is survived by her long time partner, Kenny; her children, Cindy, Charlotte, Caryn and Ron and his wife, Tracey and Deana; her grandchildren, Garrett and Richard; a great-grandchild, Jason; and her sister, Beverly.

She was predeceased by her mother, Gertrude "Cookie"; and her sisters, Charlotte, Jackie and Jan. She previously resided in Charlestown, Mass., Windsor and Sarasota, Fla.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Sept. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion, Post 59 in Hillsboro.

Donations in her name can be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hillsboro Rescue Squad.
