ObituaryMrs. Ella Houghton, 83, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Hospital of a heart ailment and complications. Her home was at 914 Dawson street, where she had been living for the past 12 years with a daughter Mrs. Lou Armstrong.
Mrs. Houghton moved here after the death of her husband, Rev. George Houghton, who was pastor of Eldora, Ia., First Baptist church. The couple was living in Eldora at the time of his death. They had been married in 1880. Rev. Mr. Houghton held several other pastorates in Iowa.
A daughter of Augustus and Sarah Stowe, Mrs. Houghton was born April 12, 1857 in Cedard Rapids, Ia.
Surviving besides Mrs. Armstrong are two other daughters, Mrs. E. S. Kinsey of Chicago and Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Eldora, and a sister, Mrs. Norval Chassell, Dallas, Tex.
The body wa taken to Eldora, where the funeral will be conducted Saturday afternoon in First Baptist church. Burial will be in Eldora, also.11

J. B. Houghton a retired farmer, formerly of Cotesfield, and later of St. Paul died Monday night at the home of his son-in- law and daughter Mr and Mrs Bert Thayer of Greeley at the age of 82 years. He has been in failing health the past year. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Methodist church St Paul at 2 p.m. the Rev. E. E. Mindt officiating. Mr Houghton is survived by his wife and daughter and several grandchildren He was preceded in death by two sons. An obituary will be published next week.
