Monica will be sorely missed by her brothers and sisters; Doris (Reno) Camilleri, Lina Muscat, Fr. Norrie Bonavia, Marian (Charles) Agius, Sam (Doris) Bonavia, Angela (Joe) Grech, Edwin (Maria) Bonavia and Raymond (Carmen) Bonavia, and her many nieces and nephews and their families; her father and mother-in-law John and Margaret Agius and Frank's eight brothers and sisters and their families. Monica was a very loving and giving person and had a special love and way with children. She enjoyed singing with the St. Dunstan Choir and volunteering at the events held by the Maltese Cross Foundation of California and the Millbrae Sister City Committee.

Obituary: : Melchio ‘Mike’ Gonzi -- A funeral Mass will take place Dec. 6 for Melchio “Mike” Gonzi, who died peacefully Dec. 1, 2002, at his home in Minden, Nev., with his wife and children at his side. He was 79. Mr. Gonzi was a native of Malta and had been employed as a Naval shipyard carpenter. He had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe for 12 years prior to moving to Minden seven years ago. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing and entertaining people with his wonderful singing and his interesting stories of Malta. He was a member of the Maltese American Club of San Francisco and St. Gall Catholic Church in Minden. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Gonzi; and eight children, Martha Flynn, Paul Gonzi, Lawrence Gonzi, Josie Floth, Janice Simi, Mary Gonzi, Michael Gonzi and Caroline Mattox; brother, Methusalem Gonzi of Victoriosa, Malta; sister, Ruth Baldacchino of San Francisco; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
