ObituaryMay 11, 1915FUHEBAL SERVICES FOR MRS. FIELDING Funeral services were conducted from the Goble undertaking parlors this afternoon for Mrs. Irene Houghton Fielding, mother of Mrs. F. IV Hayes, who died Sunday afternoon ; in San Jose. Mrs. Fielding was 79 years of age and a native of OJiio. She had made her home with Mr. and Mrs.Hayes for five years, previous to that time residing in St. Louis, Mo. Besides lier daughter, she is survived by one son, John Fielding, of St. Louis. The funeral services were conducted Jjy Rev. Thomas Bell of the Episcopal church, of this city. Mrs. Victoria Connelly, Mrs. F. L. Tubbs vandM. T. Carkeek sang. The pall bearers were L. E. Schoenemann, C. S. Schoenemann, J. G. Young, L. L. Abercrombie, S. B. Anderson and Y. E. Green.

BiographyLouisa Houghton was born on 29 Jun 1837 in Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio. Louisa first married Jairus Bates. She bore Jairus two daughters, Clara Elmira Bates, and Ella Bates. Jairus bravely enlisted to fight in the Civil War on the side of the Union despite his advanced age (67 years at enlistment), and died in the war. After the death of Jairus, Louisa married John Roy Dawes, a farmer and part-time Baptist preacher (marrying sometime after Nov 1863 and before Apr 1869). She bore John Roy a son, his tenth and final child, Charlie Roy Dawes, who was born in February 1870. After the death of John Roy Dawes on 9 Mar 1891, Louisa married Daniel Borst on 28 Nov 1896 in Waushara County, Wisconsin. Daniel died in 1905. Louisa passed away in 1911.

Catherine “Kathleen” Eileen Houghton, 92, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021, in St. Petersburg, FL. Born in Manchester on May 16, 1929, she was the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Learned) Tracy. She was a lifelong resident of Queen City. Kay graduated from Saint Joseph High School for Girls, Class of 1945. Until her retirement, she was employed with New England Telephone Company for twenty-nine years. Her favorite role was being a mother, grammy and GiGi. Devoted to her faith, she was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, where she was a member of the Lady’s Guild, the choir, and the bowling league. Presently, she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua, and the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality of the parish.
She was a member of the New Hampshire Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, the Telephone Pioneers of America, and volunteered for Special Olympics.
Kay will be remembered as loving and devoted to her family, friends, and her faith. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was an avid reader, and a Scrabble and crossword puzzle aficionado. She had an excellent memory, loved gardening, the beach, traveling, Chinese food, and ice cream. Kathleen was predeceased by her twin sons, John and Joseph as well as her former husband, Thomas J. Houghton. Family members include their children, Thomas Houghton of Manchester, Kathleen Houghton Dahowski and her husband, Paul, of Deerfield, MA; Brian Houghton and his wife, Lori, of Manchester, Jane Imbriano and her husband, John, of St. Petersburg, FL, and Anne Libby and her husband, Dan, of Manchester; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Gosselin and Patricia Gagnon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services: Calling hours are Monday, July 19, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH. The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Anthony Church, 172 Belmont Street, Manchester, NH.
Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
