Center in Hartland. He was bom in
Perham, March 22, 1917, the son
of Lloyd E. and Villa B. (Boober)
Houghton.
Mr. Houghton graduated from
Higgins Classical Institute in 1937.
He served in the U.S. Army from
1940 to 1945, with the 61*1 th Ordi-
nance Co. in the South Pacific. He
was a security officer at several pa-
per mills for 26 years, and was employed at Hall Security for 10 years.
His wife, Esther died in 1995.
His wife, Esther died in 1995.
There are no surviving relatives, but
he leaves wonderful neighbors on
Ohio Street in Hermon.

A. E. Houghton, Former Walcott Mayor Dies
Arthur E. Houghton, 65. former Walcott mayor, died at 6 p.m Tuesday m Mercy Hospital. He became ill Sunday. Mr. Houghton was bom April 19, 1882. in Davenport, and married Hazel Lindsay Feb. 27. 1944. He was a retired carpenter contractor. He moved to Walcott in in 1932. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge. No. 312 of Walcott. Survivors include his wife; two sons, James A. Houghton. Woodruff. Wis., and Edward W. of Walcott; two sisters, Dr. Florence Sargent. Bay City. Mich., and Mrs Llovd Faster, Davenport. a stepdaughter. Mrs. Edson Hoffman, Davenport; a brother Dr. James. R. Houghton Boston, Mass, and eight grandchildren
