BiographyTheodore PRENTISS, born September 10, 1818, went south for his health, and remained two years. He studied law with his father and was admitted to Washington County bar, April term, 1844. The next fall he went to Wisconsin, and in February, 1845, began the practice of law at Watertown. He was a member of the conventions to form a state constitution for Wisconsin, a member of the legislature, and though never "thrice Lord Mayor of London" has been three times mayor of his adopted city. He married, December 4, 1855, Martha J. PERRY, of Burlington, Vt. They had three children. Mr. PRENTISS had a very pleasant home in Watertown and an office built for his own convenience.2

BiographyJames PRENTISS, born July 19, 1824; graduated at the University of Vermont and studied law; was admitted to the bar about 1848. He went to Watertown, Wis., and was in partnership with his brother Theodore for twenty years. I do not find where he was admitted to the bar. James married Rachel Ann PRENTISS. He was elected mayor of Watertown in 1865, and died there January 24, 1868.2

Obituary"The death of Simeon Houghton occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. S. Perkins, on Wednesday, July 31st, at Hartwick Seminary. Mr. Houghton was born in the town of Maryland in 1844. For several years he had lived on the Bunyan farm at Hartwick Seminary. A few years ago his sight failed him and from that time he has made his home with the above mentioned daughter. In spite of total blindness for several years, Mr. Houghton has been a most patient sufferer. His was always a cheerful disposition and his Christian character has been one of admiration. Besides Mrs. Perkins, a son, Dorr Houghton, and a brother, Edward Houghton of Maryland remain to mourn the loss. There are also four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Perkins, the Rev. Phillip Luther of Oneonta officiating. Interment at Hartwick Seminary." FULTONVILLE--Arthur F. Houghton died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Howard D. Young in Glen, yesterday afternoon, after an illness of several months of arteriosclerosis, 84 years of age. Mr. Houghton was a well-known resident of the village. Ho was a carpenter by trade, and for a long time was in the employ of the Glen Telephone company. Of late years he had lived in retirement. Born in Albany county, Sept 1, 1847 a son of James M. and Elsie Patton Houghton, He married Miss Louisa Dingman, who died seven years ago in June of last year. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home. Burial will be in Maple Avenue cemetery in Fultonville.

ObituaryDec 9, 1904"The death of Dr. E.E. Houghton, a well known physician occurred at his home at 6:15 o'clock Friday evening. He was 73 years old. Dr. Houghton was born near this village and has been a practicing physician here for about 50 years. He was well known and had the respect and confidence of the entire community. He is survived by one brother, W.Y. Houghton of Seattle, Wash., three daughters; Mrs. Deloss Follett and Miss Elizabeth Houghton both of Schenevus and Mrs. J. M Robb of Amsterdam. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Tuesday at 2 o'clock. Interment in Schenevus cemetery. A fellow physician in Schenevus says that Dr. Houghton was a skillful physician, an intelligent citizen, an honorable man and with all a Christian gentleman. His death is lamented by all." Obituary"Mrs. Maria Houghton, wife of Dr. E.E. Houghton, died at her home in Schenevus Wednesday, Nov. 14, aged 72 years, 1 month and 15 days. Mrs. Houghton was born in the town of Westford and lived there until her marriage with Dr. E.E. Houghton in 1855, at which time they located in Schenevus. She was a woman of sterling worth, a member of the Baptist Church, and her kindly greetings will be long missed by all. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn three daughters, Mrs. Delos Follett, and Miss Elizabeth Houghton of this village and Miss Ella Houghton who is teaching in one of the schools in Lansingburg. She is also survived by three brothers and three sisters; Jas. Badeau, Sidney; Mrs. Gitty Jewell of Elk Creek; Mrs. Wm.
