Thanks for the prompt response. Kevon is my youngest son. When he
submitted this, he didn't have access to all of the subsequent research one
of my cousins and I have done. I'm a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel so that
is what the LTC is. My work email address has changed, but I have the same
phone number. For a college project I did a biography of my grandmother
Idella Houghton as I was able to interview her for this project. As a result
of my interests in the family history I was given all of the family
photographs and other memorabilia when my grandmother began to disperse her
possessions. My father, Ivan Dudley Houghton is still living and resides in
Hemet, CA at the present. Kevon's older brother Bryon has a son Jack. Last
year during a visit we took some photographs of the four generations of
Houghton males together. I'm currently working on a doctorate degree. At the
moment I'm between classes, but wanted to let you know that if we continue
this exchange and I don't respond for a period, it's probably because I've
gotten busy again. I still work for the Army as a civilian so periodically
do some travelling. Last year I visited the Culpepper, VA court. None of my
ancestors are mentioned in any of the records there. I have not gone to
Richmond to see what the Virginia records may show. For documentation I have
many of the documents you cite in the narrative. Additional documents I have
would be like a copy of the marriage certificate for Joseph and Adella
(Della) Houghton.
