Riceville recorder, Riceville, IA, USA, Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Townsend Funeral Home in Dublin, Georgia at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 for Bill James Wilson, 74, who passed away Monday, April 25 at the VA Medical Center in Dublin. Burial was in the North View Cemetery in Dublin.
Bill James Wilson was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the 267th Quartermaster Bakery Company of the U.S. Army. He also served in the Army Air Force. He has been a resident of the Dublin VA Medical Center since 1959.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Vivian Wilson of Riceville; four daughters, Mrs. Sharon Fuller, DeWitt, Iowa; Miss Janice Wilson, Charles City, Iowa; Mrs. rene Bijani, Riceville and Mrs. Jone Jones of Dublin, Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Regina Turner, Forsythe, Georgia; Mrs. Janet Joiner, New Smyrna Beach, Florida; three brothers, Jess, Tallahasee, Florida; Gene, Griffin, Georgia and Jack, Fort Worth, Texas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and sever nieces and nephews.

Biography

One of 7 children of Henry Eugene Wilson and Irma Nabelle Gable of Barnesville, Georgia. Called Pete by father and oldest sister. Born at Goggins, GA. Attened Gordon Grammar School, in Barnesville, and the American School in Chicago IL, graduating in 1936. He did a carpentry apprenticeship from 1935 to 1941. He was a union carpenter for 10 years. He served from 1941 to 1945 in US Army, PFC, baker and interpreter in WWII. Learned Italian and served as translator. He worked as a carpenter from 1945 to 1945. Graduated from watch repair school in Atlanta, GA in 1950. From 1949 to 1951 he was a sgt. in US Air Force reserve, repairing airplanes. In 1953 was dispatcher for Lockheed in Marietta, GA. Purchased home in 1948 in Decatur Georgia. All children born in Atlanta GA hospital. He was a member of the American Legion and the Masons, Scottish Rite, and the Shriners. On Apr. 10, 1953, he was inducted into the Legion of Honor of the Shriners. He worked as a dispatcher with Lockheed Airlines at Marietta, GA in 1955. He developed Parkinsonism, of which he died. He had behavioral changes due to it. He was hospitalized at the VA Hospital in GA³
