Josiah White appears with rank of sergeant on Muster and Pay Roll of Capt. Samuel Taylor's Co., Col. Porter's Regt. Marched to reinforce the northern army after evacuation of Ticonderoga, enlisted July 10, 1777, discharged Aug. 12, 1777, served 38 days. (Various Service, Vol. 23, p. 136).
