A tiny woman who spends a lot of time at Oddstad Center, she is the mother of Lena Duensing of Peralta Road. When Mrs Battaglia first came to Pacifica she lived with her daughter, moving just recently to Casa Pacifica. She is a native of Malta, a small island nation in the Mediterranean south of Sicily. To help celebrate Mrs Battaglia's accomplishment, seniors at a picnic at Oddstad last week gave her a cake and a little party. She was naturalized on 24 October 1978 at San Francisco, CA, USA.

Rose Battaglia, a 79-year-old native of Malta who came to the United States in 1953 and earned her citizenship in 1978, died in Oakland’s Peralta hospital thanksgiving Day
She was among the earliest of the tenants of Casa Pacifica senior housing in 1977, held membership in the Casa Pacifica Association and the Seniors In Action program She attended St. Peter’s Catholic church.
Before moving to Casa Pacifica, she made her home with daughter Lena Duensing on Peralta Road
In addition to Mrs. Duensing, she is survived by son Frank Battaglia of Redwood City, grandchildren Robert Murray and Rosemarie Martin of Petaluma, Michael Battaglia of Redwood City and Jay Duensing of Pacifica, hree great grandchildren and her brother, Joseph Pace f Santa Rosa
A mass of Christian burial was held Saturday af ernoon at St Peter’s and interment was in Olivet nemorial park A memorial service was held Tuesday vening Arrangements were by Duggan’s Serra Mor uary of Daly City.
