November 9, 1926 ~ November 7, 2020 Margaret born in Mellieha, Malta on November 9, 1926 to Moses and Marianna Bartolo, departed this life, peacefully and comfortably on 11/7/2020.at the age of 93 (2 days shy of her 94th). She arrived in San Francisco in November 1952 as a widow (Giuseppe (John)Tonna D. 6/1948) with 3 young children (Joe (D 6/2007), Marian and Jane) speaking only the Maltese language. She married Emmanuel Tonna (D.6/1998) in December 1952 and had three more children (Mary, Charles and Lisa). She was blessed with many healthy and active years, enjoying 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She enjoyed cooking Maltese food and the family was the beneficiary of those meals especially her famous pastizzis.

     Jane Rose Tonna was born on 27 January 1948 in Mellieha, Malta.¹ She married Ronald Young on 1 February 1969 at San Francisco, CA, USA.¹ Jane Rose Tonna died on 24 December 2022 at age 74.

Obituary: on 28 December 2022: It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jane Rose Young, December 24, 2022. She passed with her family at her side. She was spiritually ready to let go of this life with the limitations set upon by her disease. Jane was born on January 27, 1948, in Malta to Margaret and Emmanuel Tonna. She attended St. Paul of the Shipwreck H.S in San Francisco. She retired from employment with City College of S.F. Retirement was filled with family, friends, travel, and time to really enjoy all of life’s gifts and pleasures. She will be remembered for her warm generous heart, positive attitude, zest for life and fun-loving personality.
Jane is predeceased by her husband Ronald Young, survived by her son David (Erika), her daughter Dayna (Tyrone), grandchildren Daniel, Amaya, Christian, Matthew. She is predeceased by her brother Joe and survived by her brother Charlie and her sisters Marian, Mary, and Lisa. Jane is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
