Mr. Houghton was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Royston, Hertsforshire, England. He came to the United States 24 years ago and moved to a farm in Minnesota. He moved to San Luis Obispo in 1980 and worked in real estate and mortgages until his death.

Mr. Houghton is survived by his mother, Joy Houghton; sisters Anne and Tessa; brother Roger, and numerous nieces and nephews.¹
