He was known to his friends and family as a "social butterfly". Brucie is survived by his beloved daughter, Patricia Xylia Brace; nephew of Patricia Ann Coyne; beloved cousin of Lisa Esopi and family, and Brenda St. John and family; survived by many other dear cousins and friends; son of the late Jeannette Houghton; twin brother of the late Patricia Maher; grandson of the late George Houghton. DEPAUVILLE, N.Y. — Jordan M. Houghton, 17, County Route 54, died Sunday morning, May 18, in an automobile accident in the town of Clayton. An autopsy will be performed.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St., Clayton. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Depauville United Methodist Church with Pastor Donald Briant officiating. Burial will be in Depauville Cemetery.

Donations may be made in his name to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M. A. D. D.), 790 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Suite 6, Latham, N.Y. 12110.

Born March 8, 1991, in Watertown, son of Michael K. and Jacqueline M. Shepherd Houghton, he attended Thousand Islands schools for 10 years, and had completed a year at Jefferson-Lewis BOCES.

He was a cable stringer for Global Link of the North Country, Watertown.

He enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, boating, camping, and hunting. He was very adventurous.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Michael K. and Kris Houghton, Depauville; his mother, Jackie M. Houghton, Watertown; his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Linda and Joseph Knight, Henderson; his maternal grandfather, Russell Shepherd, Evans Mills; his step paternal grandmother, Karen Houghton, Castorland ; two half sisters, Amy M. Blum, Whitesboro, and Rebecca M. Houghton, Adams; three half brothers, Michael K. Houghton II, Henderson, and William R. Howland and Matt R. Howland, both of Watertown; and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A woman, her two daughters and two men have been charged in the state police investigation of an underage drinking party at Fishers Landing that was the last stop for two men before they were killed in an auto accident early May 18.

The accident victims, Jordan M. Houghton, 17, County Route 54, Chaumont, and Maxwell Z. Zeigler, 20, Swart Avenue, Clayton, were "highly intoxicated" when they left the party, police say.

Lisa J. Smith-Jeffries, 40, the resident of the house at 42219 Arcadia Park Road but not the owner, is charged with second-degree criminal nuisance and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.

She is accused of allowing underage people to use marijuana in her home, and of allowing underage people to be at a location where the use of marijuana and alcoholic beverages was occurring.
