Vivian L. Houghton, 80, of Walnut Creek, CA died December 19, 2003. Born in Lodi, California, July 7, 1923, she was one of five children of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon F. Pope.

Following graduation from Lodi High, Vivian relocated to Sacramento, California where she met her husband of 32 years, Lowell N. Houghton. She is survived by the couple's three children, Gayl Staffler (Morgan Hill), Geri Koenig (Fremont) and Terry Houghton (San Jose), six grandchildren and her brothers Gerald L. Pope (Reno) and Paul E. Pope (Burlingame). She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Pope and sister Marie Pope.

An open invitation is extended to all who wish to join in a celebration of Vivian's life. A memorial service will be held, Sunday January 4, 2003 at 2:00 pm in the main sanctuary of the Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, 1801 LaCassie Avenue, Walnut Creek, California 94596. A reception will follow in the church parlor from 3-5. Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel²

LYNDHURST - John R. Houghton, 78, a former chief of the fire department, died yesterday at Passaic General Hospital after a brief illness. He lived at 44 Riverside Ave. Mr. Houghton, born in New York City, had lived-In Lynd- hurst 70 year?. He was a self- employed building contractor. Mr. Houghton was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. He belonged to the New York and He also was a member of the Elks Lodge and an honorary member of the Polish- Amerioan Club. He-served on the Selective Service Board 5, Hackensack. Mr. Houghton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Wolf Houghton; two sons, Eugene of Paterson and John of Lyndhurst; four daughters, Mrs. Patricia Powloski of Newport, R.I., and Mrs. Joan Dawson, Mrs. Joyce Molzon and Mrs. Kathleen Curriero, all of Lyndhurst; a brother, Herbert of Lyndhurst; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret McGann and Mrs. Lillian Shortal, both of Lyndhurst, and Mrs. Helen Hoyt of Long Beach, Cali^fand 11 grandchildren.

MARGARET WOLF HOUGHTON, 87, of Lyndhurst died Thursday. Before retiring in 1925, she was a secretary for the New York Telephone Co. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Lyndhurst, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 139, Lyndhurst. Surviving are two sons, Eugene of Paterson and John of Lyndhurst; four daughters, Patricia Pawlowski of Newport, R.I., and Joan Dawson, Joyce Molzon, and Catherine Curriero, all of Lyndhurst; a sister, Lillian Wolf of Lyndhur st, 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, John, died in 1971; a sister, Eleanor Bolander, and a brother, Walter Wolf, also are deceased. Mass will be said Monday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, with burial in Holy Cross Cemete ry, North Arlington. Visiting is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst.

OBITUARY

Eugene R. Houghton, 73, of Lyndhurst died yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Paterson.

A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in the Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst, following the funeral from the Ippolito Stellato Funeral Home, Inc., 425 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst.

Mr. Houghton was a bridge inspector for Lackawanna Conrail, now the department of transportation in Lyndhurst and Secaucus, for 30 years before retiring in 1988.

He served in the Navy during World War II and the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Houghton was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lyndhurst and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Rutherford.

Born in Lyndhurst, he lived in Paterson before moving to Lyndhurst.

Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Pawlowski, Mrs. Joan Dawson, Mrs. Joyce Molzon and Mrs. Catherine Curriero, and a brother, John.²

Rita Claire Weisdorfer, 77, of Roy, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at Alta Vista Hospital in Las Vegas, N.M. She was born on July 10, 1928, in Lyndhurst, N.J. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Roy. She was a retired registered nurse and had been the public health nurse in Roy for many years. Survivors include a brother, Thomas F. Houghton (and wife, Angela) of Franklin Lakes, N.J; a brother-in-law, Donald Weisdorfer of Roy; and seven nieces and nephews, June Mahoney (Johnny), Donna Milson, Michael Houghton (Maria), Claire Delaney (Joseph), Timothy Houghton (Lynn), Katherine Houghton, and Herbert Houghton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Stokey" Weisdorfer. Burial will be at Roy Cemetery.
