Age 78, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away, Friday, August 11, 2017. Nancy was born December 9, 1938 in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of Thomas and Ruby (Stout) McAlister. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Nancy was a caretaker all of her life and owned an Adult Foster Care home for many years. She also worked as a nurse aide at Ingham Medical for several years. During those years she raised her children and pursued to complete her education in order to work in the Mental Health Field. Nancy loved cooking, sewing and writing beautiful poetry. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lance S. Houghton in 2014 and brother, James McAlister. Nancy's life will continue to be celebrated and remembered by her loving husband of 63 years, Wesley; children, Tommy (Brenda) Houghton, Tammy Houghton, Lisa (Dan) MacLennan and George Richmond; grandchildren, Britni (Tony), Jason (Deanna), Jamie (Ken), Justin (Mackenzie), Tia and Will. Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, August 16, 2017, 1:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel, 6020 W. Saginaw Ave, Lansing, MI 48917, with Pastor Rockney Wing officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Center Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Wednesday, August 16, 2017, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Sparrow Hospice in memory of Nancy. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.palmerbush.com.

Lance S. Houghton, Lansing,
Age 42, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend went home on Monday, June 16, 2014. He lost his year long battle to cancer, but was surrounded by his loved ones in the comfort of his own home. Born on March 29, 1972 in Lansing, MI the son of Wesley and Nancy (McAlister) Houghton. He was a graduate of Eaton Rapids Public School, class of 1990. Lance attended Lansing Community College and studied Mechanical Engineering. He worked for General Motors for 17 years as a material handler.

Lance is survived by his parents, Wesley and Nancy Houghton; sisters, Lisa (Dan) MacLennan and Tammy Houghton; brothers, Wes (Brenda) Houghton and George Richmond; nieces, Britni (Tony) Hernandez, Jamie (Ken) Owens and Tia MacLennan; nephews, Jason (Deanna) Houghton, Justin (Mackenzie) Houghton and Will MacLennan. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lance was a person who was loved by many and was always willing to give a helping hand. His spirit of life and God was an inspiration to everyone. Lance we will see you on the other side. We love you!

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 20, 2014, 1:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel with Rev. Rockney Wing officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Center Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Vangala for her care, love and support at a time when it was greatly needed.
