I am writing to you to see if we might have some family connection. I am 81 and live in Auburn Ca. My grandmother was Rose Vella. She was born in Manchester, England. Her father was Joseph Vella who migrated to England from Malta. He and his wife Bertha had five children: Dora, Rose, Bessie, Harry and Nellie. Bessie came to New York as a young woman and started a dressmaking business in the early 1900’s. The rest of the family came to America as well. Joseph died in England before they came. They eventually all settled in San Francisco. I have many precious memories of my Grandma Rosie and Aunt Bessie. Dora and Harry passed before I was born. My grandmother married Barnett Myers in Manchester. They had one daughter, my mother Matilda. on 29 May 2024. She was a correspondent with the author of the Maltese Immigration Project Valerie Harrison on 29 May 2024. She contributed their family genealogy to Maltese Immigration Project.

     Thomas Andrew Fallon was born on 29 November 1904 in San Francisco, CA, USA. He married Matilda Myers, daughter of Barnett Myers and Rose Vella, in 1941 at San Francisco, CA, USA. Requiem high mass will be sung for Thomas Andrew Fallon, 61, USF Law School ’36, assistant director of the John Beard Memorial Foundation and veteran manufacturers’ agent here, at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow at St. Cecilia’s Church. Mr. Fallon, born in San Francisco of pioneer stock, died yesterday of injuries suffered Sunday in a San Jose auto accident. Formerly a patent-trademark investigator, he had for many years been manufacturer’s representative here for American Playground Equipment Co., supplier to schools and municipalities. He was past execu- tive secretary of Ignatian Council 35, YMI, of which his late father, Thomas, had been a founder.
He is survived by his wife, Matilda, 2622 23rd ave; a daughter, Valerie; brothers Mark, East Bay realty man, and Vincent, controller-purchaser for archdiocesan schools.
