Miss Roberta Houghton
Miss Roberta Houghton, 48. of Ithaca R.D. died at Tomp kins County Hospital Sunday, April 23. 1967, after a long illness. She was bom in Ithaca, daughter of Mrs. Leeta C. Houghton of Ithaca, and the late Charles E Houghton. She attended Ithaca High School and was graduated from Northfield Seminary with honors in 1935. Miss Houghton attended Cornell University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, and received the B.S. degree from University of New York in Cortland in 1942. She taught school in Tompkins County and, from 1946 to 1956, in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Miss Houghton was one of the first members of Polar Bear Club of Taughannock Park. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Betty H. McHale of Ithaca and Miss Virginia L. Houghton of Syracuse; a brother, Charles E. Houghton of Ithaca; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Burial will be in City Cemetery.

Elizabeth C. Houghton passed away on March 14, 2006 at St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry, NY. She was 96 years old. Elizabeth was born on November 5, 1909 in New York, NY to Katherine Louise Carey and Walter Saint John Houghton, II. Ms. Houghton attended Mount St. Ursula High School in the Bronx, NY and College of New Rochelle were she graduated in 1931. Ms. Houghton was a school teacher at the Greenvale Grammar School in Eastchester. She retired in the late 1970's after forty five years of teaching at Greenvale. Ms. Houghton was also a Girl Scout Brownie Troop leader in Eastchester. She had the gift to make all of her pupils feel very special. Ms. Houghton is survived by two nieces Edith B. Warren and Marion L. Houghton. Also surviving are two grand nephews Gavin and James Warren. She is predeceased by a sister Katherine Houghton and a brother Walter Saint John Houghton III. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday 9:30 AM Our Lady of Fatima Church, Scarsdale. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mamaroneck, N.Y., Jan. 30--Herbert R. Houghton, a real estate broker for more than a half-century, died today after a long illness. His age was 70.
Until his retirement two years ago Mr. Houghton was president of the Houghton Company, a Manhattan real estate concern founded 135 years ago by his grandfather, Royall Houghton.
A native of New York, Mr. Houghton studied advanced real estate appraisal courses at Columbia University. He was a member of the American Society of Real Estate Appraisers and the Real Estate Board of New York and a past president of the Westchester County Realty Board. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jane Rushmore Houghton; three sons, Everett T. of Larchmont, Rushmore R. of Harrison and the Rev. Herbert R. Houghton Jr. of Orono, Me; a brother, a sister and six grandchildren.

WHITE ROCK - Rushmore R. Houghton, 99, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in the Lowman Home, P.O. Box 444, White Rock, SC 29177. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036, of which he was a member. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the church or the Lowman Home.

Mr. Houghton was born September 8, 1910, in New York City, NY, and was the son of the late Herbert R. and Jane R. Houghton. He graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in economics in 1934. Mr. Houghton was a member of the Boy Scouts for 87 years.

Mr. Houghton is survived by his daughter, Toay Jane Houghton and her son, Richard, and his wife, Maura, and their children, Jordan and Aidan; son, Everett Rushmore Houghton and his wife, Loren, and their children, Adam and Ryan. He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel W. Houghton; twin brother, Everett T. Houghton, and brother, Herbert R. Houghton Jr. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

WHITE ROCK – Memorial services for Everett T. Houghton, 93, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at Chapin United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or to the Lowman Home. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Houghton died Sunday, March 14, 2004. Born in New York City, NY on September 8, 1910, he was a son of the late Herbert R. Houghton, Sr. and Jane Rushmore Houghton. He graduated form the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics in 1934. He was a member of the Boy Scouts for 81 years and an honorary life member of the Chapin Lions Club. He was a member of Chapin United Methodist.
He is survived by his wife, Constance P. Houghton; step daughters, Eleanor R. Brauner, Beverly Urban; step sons, Frank W. Reed, Byron, Robert, and Bruce Smith; twin brother, Rushmore Houghton and many cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Reverend Herbert R. Houghton, Jr. and his first wife Frances Reed Houghton.

Word has been received in San Luis Obispo of the death on October 4 of Dr. Ernest J. Houghton of Chatham, N.Y. Dr. Houghton, 78, was a cousin of James Houghton of 2038 Johnson Ave.
He was born in Lancashire, England, on Sept. 16, 1885 and was a retired minister of the First Presbyterian Church, Mt Vernon, N.Y. Dr. and Mrs. Houghton visited Mr. and Mrs. James Houghton in June.
Dr. Houghton is survived by his widow, Margaret, Chatham; a daughter, Mrs. John Reeves, Hillsborough; a son, John Houghton, New York City, N.Y., several grandchildren, and nu merous cousins in England.
