BiographyWhen age 11 Lemuel Crane went to live with the family of Samuel Dunbar, minister of the parish, and continued for 7 years. Early in 1776, he went to Dorcester. A soldier in the company of militia detailed to guard the troops of General Burgoyne when the prisoners were in Cambridge. In 1782 he got land. Collector 1790; selectman and assessor, 1793 to 1803/4/5. Repres. to the General Court. Taught the first school established in the neighborhood, from 1790 to 1797.2
