Biography

Charles was in the truck and dray business (1926-1929), farmed (1929-1955), owned a grocery store in Willow Lake, SD and operated it (1955-1967). He served as acting Postmaster of Willow Lake, SD, following the death of Percy Houghton and was subsequently elected Mayor of Willow Lake, SD. He provided a water hauling service in and around Willow Lake up until his death in 1979.²
